The Enounce 2xAV plug-in offers Time-Scale Modification capabilities that add a
"slider bar" to the RealPlayer and Windows Media Player and lets you change the
playback rate of video and audio from 1/3 to 2.5 times the normal speed without pausing
playback and without any "chipmunking" effects. With 2xAV technololgy, users
are able to fast forward and slow down at their own pace and at their own interest level:
quickly skim boring media segments, slowly view interesting media segemnts with other
things and get more comprehension from any streaming data they need to review. They can
change speeds on-the-fly without pausing or stopping. The Enounce 2xAV system works with
local files and files streamed from the Internet.
Enounce Education Initiative (EEI)
The Enounce Education Initiative (EEI) gives students the
opportunity to use 2xAV to increase their overall learning speed
while eliminating the need to repeat or review the parts of
lectures where they already know the information. It lets them
slow things down when there are areas requiring greater
concentration, note-taking, or when they are studying material for
the first time. The 2xAV system also allows users
to speed through segments that would otherwise proceed so slowly
they are prone to distraction. In fact, many users report
speeding up material makes it more engaging. And of course
with the ability to play material at 2.5 times normal speed, users
can skim material they are already familiar with, or are
uninterested in.
The EEI is a two-part program:
- The Student Program offers our 2xAV plug-in either through your
bookstore or on a downloadable basis so each student can get one at a minimal cost (or no
cost if you choose to absorb the cost yourself).
- The University Program puts the Enounce 2xAV technology into
your computer laboratories where students can work with course information at their own
speed thereby getting full value from all of the lectures presented on a streaming media.
This program is designed with the university budget in mind. We are offering very
attractive pricing for the entire EEI program.
EEI has only been offered for a short time but we have already had some real successes.

- University of Michigan
Enounce also offers an information gathering package that allows you to review the
progress made by your students in their classes, determine what classes or parts of
classes are being listened to more or less attentively or where people simply speed
through without paying attention. This kind of feedback will improve the courses given and
allow your teaching professionals to reevaluate and redo the course information based on
this kind of real input.
