MySpeed allows you to speed up or slow down the playback of most Internet video while maintaining natural-sounding audio (i.e. no chipmunk or Darth Vader effect). It runs in the background, detecting Adobe Flash audio/video and putting speed control in your hands.

MySpeed Premier includes all the features of MySpeed but also allows you to speed up or slow down the playback of MP4 files (and some other formats) that you have on your computer.

Existing customers of MySpeed for Windows or MySpeed for Mac may purchase an upgrade to MySpeed Version 5 from the Enounce Online store. Follow these steps.

1. Purchase the upgrade from ourEnounce Online store (Click Here).You will need to enter your Serial Number on the product details page. If you have lost your Serial Number, please contact ourTechnical Support (Click Here).
2. Once your upgrade purchase is complete, the product code on your existing Serial Number will be upgraded to MySpeed Version 5.
3. DownloadMySpeed Version 5 (Win | Mac).
4. ThenActivate (click here for instructions) MySpeed Version 5 using your existing Serial Number.

But I just purchased, do I have to purchase again already?

If you purchased MySpeed for Windows after April 26th 2012 or MySpeed for Mac after May 25th 2013, your Serial Number has already been upgraded. Just downloadMySpeed Version 5(Win|Mac)and activate with your Serial Number.

You are more than welcome to continue using your current version for as long as you wish. However, Enounce has already phased out technical support, updates and bug fixes for MySpeed v3 for Windows and MySpeed v1.43 for Macin 2013. Future updates to operating systems, Internet browsers and Adobe Flash may not be supported at Enounce’s discretion.Download the previous version of MySpeed for (Win|Mac).

To revert back to a previous version, you must first completely remove the later version from your computer because the installers will now replace a newer file with an older file.

Windows:

1. Right-click the MySpeed icon and select Preferences
2. Uncheck "Start MySpeed when Windows Starts Up"
3. Click the "OK" button.
4. Restart the computer
5. Uninstall MySpeed using the Windows Control Panel
6. Open the File Explorer and Browse to
   C:\Program Files\Enounce
7. If the "MySpeed" directory is still there, Delete it
8. Download the latest MySpeed for Widnows VERSION 3.

Mac: (note: you can NOT just drag the Application to the Trash)

1. Download the RemoveMySpeed Tool Image File (dmg)
2. Double Click on the DMG file
3. OS X 10.8 and greater:
   • Hold the Ctrl key and Click on the RemoveMySpeed Tool file inside
   • Select Open from the Menu
   • Click the Open button on the dialog
4. OS X 10.7 or 10.6
   • Double click on the RemoveMySpeed Tool file inside the DMG
5. The Terminal will open and prompt you to enter your Mac Password
6. You will see some status messages inside the Terminal window as components of MySpeed are remove. When finished you can close the Terminal.
7. Download the latest MySpeed for Mac Version 5.2

No, you don't need to provide us with your credit card information to use the free 7-day trial. The free trial will cease working 7 days after you download it. To continue using the program after that time, you'll need to purchase it with either a credit card or via PayPal.

MySpeed works with most Flash & HTML5 video in most common Internet browsers. MySpeed Premier will work with downloaded Flash and HTML5 files (FLV and MP4) using the supported media players listed on our Technical Requirements page.

Please note that 64-bit versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox are not supported. See below for instructions on using the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer.

Right-click the MySpeed system tray icon and select "Close" from the menu. Clicking the red "X" on the upper right of the MySpeed Slider closes the slider window; it does not exit the program.

Yes. The MySpeed Premier edition can be used to control the speed of downloaded MP4 files. See our tutorial about Playing Downloaded Video (MP4) Files.

There are two modes for sending Flash media from a server to your computer. One is known as Progressive Download, which sends data from the server to your computer as fast as your connection will allow or tries to match the download rate to your data consumption rate. In this mode, the download progress bar moves faster than the playback progress pointer. Progressive Download mode is used by such sites as YouTube, FoxNews, ABCNews, CNN, and many others.

The other mode is known as Streamed or RTMP (Real Time Messaging Protocol). In this mode a server sends the data to your computer just fast enough to play the content at normal speed with a small (typically 30 second) buffer to accommodate small fluctuations in the connection speed. If you attempt to play this content faster than normal, you will play through this small buffer and then playback will pause until that buffer is refilled. Some sites such as BarBri, TED.com, DrNjeebLectures.com use this RTMP streaming mode. Unfortunately there is no way for MySpeed to control the download speed of Streamed content.

Yes. MySpeed must not be active, that is, in use, when you try to disable it. When the MySpeed system tray icon is gray, MySpeed is not active. To disable MySpeed right-click the MySpeed icon in the system tray and select Disable MySpeed. To enable MySpeed, right-click the system tray icon again and select Enable MySpeed.

Yes. You can show or hide the MySpeed slider at any time by clicking the MySpeed icon in the system tray. You can also hide the MySpeed slider just by clicking the [X] in the upper right corner. This will close the slider without exiting the application.

MySpeed defaults to the speed setting last used. However, if you have a mouse with a scroll wheel, the speed setting may fluctuate due to the scroll wheel’s control of the slider. If you have rolled the scroll wheel without realizing it, you may have changed the speed setting.

Yes. MySpeed supports the use of hot keys. Hot keys are defined on the Hot Keys tab of the MySpeed preferences window. The default hot keys are:

• Ctrl+Alt+F: One step faster
• Ctrl+Alt+S: One step slower
• Ctrl+Alt+N: Return to normal speed (1.0)
• Ctrl+Alt+P: Preferred speed (default 1.7)

To change defaults, right-click the MySpeed system tray icon and select "Preferences," then the Hot Keys tab.

MySpeed automatically displays its speed slider whenever Flash media begins to play, and the mouse pointer is moved to the slider. Beta versions of MySpeed enabled this feature by default. You may enable or disable this feature in the Preferences window. To open the Preferences window, right-click the MySpeed system tray icon and select Preferences. Then uncheck the option "Show/hide slider automatically."

Right-click the MySpeed system tray icon and select Preferences. Enable or disable the "Start MySpeed when Windows starts up" option.

Change the minimum and maximum speed values by right-clicking the MySpeed system tray icon and selecting Preferences.

MySpeed for Windows

You should first try to use the "Uninstall a program" option from the Windows Control Panel.

If MySpeed did not get removed through the normal uninstall using the Control Panel, MySpeed must have been stuck in Memory when you tried to run the Uninstall and so parts of MySpeed could not be removed. When this happens, the Microsoft Installer/Uninstaller is suppose to prompt you to restart the computer so that the locked files may be removed when the machine starts up again. Unfortunately MS doesn't always work the way it should. You can try these steps to manually remove MySpeed.

1. Right-click on the MySpeed icon in the System Tray
2. Select Preferences from the MySpeed Menu.
3. Uncheck the box "Start MySpeed when Windows Starts Up
4. Click the OK button to apply the changes
5. Restart the computer, continue when it has started back up
6. Open the Windows Control Panel
   Windows 7/Vista: Click "Uninstall a program"
   Windows XP: Click "Add/Remove Programs"
7. Find MySpeed and select Uninstall and wait for the Uninstall to Finish
8. Click the Start menu and select "Computer"
9. Open "C:" (Typically labeled OS)
10. Open the folder "Program Files (x86)" on 64-bit Windows or just "Program Files" on 32-bit Windows.
11. Open the "Enounce" folder
12. If the "MySpeed" directory is still there, Select it by clicking once to highlight it
13. Press the "Delete" key on the keyboard to delete the "MySpeed" folder

MySpeed for Mac

1. Close and Quit all Internet Browser Applications
2. Download the RemoveMySpeed Tool Image File (dmg)
3. Double Click on the DMG file
4. OS X 10.8 and greater:
   1. Hold the Ctrl key and Click on the RemoveMySpeed Tool file inside
   2. Select Open from the Menu
   3. Click the Open button on the dialog
5. OS X 10.7 or 10.6
   1. Double click on the RemoveMySpeed Tool file inside the DMG
6. The Terminal will open and prompt you to enter your Mac Password (this is the same password you entered when you installed MySpeed)
7. You will see some status messages inside the Terminal window as components of MySpeed are remove. When finished you can close the Terminal.
